Correct Score: Spurs to go out in style at the Lane

Tottenham v Manchester United | Sunday 16:30 | Sky Sports 1

With Chelsea having wrapped up the title on Friday night, on the face of it there is little for Tottenham to play for. With their superior goal difference they need a maximum of one more point to secure second spot and they wouldn't be the first club to tail off once a title bid is ended prematurely.

That said, I think the final game at White Hart Lane against Manchester United will prove motivation enough. Spurs have been imperious at home this season and a record of won three and drawn one against the rest of the big six shows that any kind of inferiority complex has long since past.

Scoreless United

Admittedly the sample size is tiny but its interesting to note that all three of those victories came by a scoreline of two goals to nil.

United, for their part, have so far failed to score away to the top half dozen. Jose Mourinho will no doubt claim that they should have scored in each of those matches but the truth is they have created very little and I expect similar tactics to those employed – successfully – at Anfield and The City of Manchester stadium; they will sit deep and look to create that one match-winning chance.

I backed 0-0 in those matches as the price was too big to turn down. On this occasion, however, I cannot see Spurs remaining scoreless so will take the 2-0 on offer at 8/1 with Betfair. At 9/1 on the exchange, 2-1 is also worth keeping on side.
