CAN Colchester cause a shock against Tottenham in the FA Cup on Saturday? Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) previews the action.

Colchester v Tottenham | Saturday 12:45 | BT Sport 1

Exciting times to be a Spurs fan? You bet. They sit just five points off the pace in the Premier League in fourth place, have a young hungry squad and also find themselves in the Europa League knockout stages.

Next on their assignment list is a trip to Colchester in the FA Cup. A task Mauricio Pochettino's side should pass with flying colours you'd have to think.

At the nub of that confidence is Spurs' domestic cup record under the Argentine. Yes, it's a small sample, but they reached the final of the Capital One Cup last season and have only been knocked out by Premier League sides when falling by the wayside.

In the Capital One Cup last season they won by more than one goal against Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Brighton before edging past Sheffield United in a pressure-fuelled semi-final.

Yes, Pochettino will shuffle his pack here as all his eggs will be firmly in the Premier League basket but this Spurs side looks deep in talent and bursting at the gills with enthusiastic youth.

While Spurs have had an exciting side so far it's been a bit of nightmare for Colchester. Tony Humes was sacked in November and they've brought in ex-Wolves player Kevin Keen.

Sadly for Keen and the club things don't seem to be working as they lie anchored to the foot of the League One table with just five wins from their 28 league matches.

The U's league form is pitiful with 11 defeats from their last 13 matches and no wins since the 20th October. It's remarkable they've got this far in the FA Cup but had non-league clubs in their first two matches and then crisis club Charlton in Round 3. This will be an entirely different matter.

Logic and sense points to a comfortable win for Spurs here and to be able to back them -1.5 at Evens with 888 Sport seems very fair. Keep it simple Spurs.
