RACING anorak Graeme Johnston (@GraemeJ_83) analyses the field for the Coral Cup, the third race on Day 2 at Cheltenham Festival.

The Coral Cup is one of the meetings big handicaps and not a race I'm normally heavily involved with, however this year I really like one.

I have backed Thomas Darby here. He has been allotted top weight but I feel that he has the class and scope to cope with it. A runner up in the Supreme Novice Hurdle two years ago his career has been stop-start since.

After an abandoned chasing career he has returned to hurdles, winning an Ascot handicap and placed in graded races since. He is fresh, likes the track and I feel is still improving. With the fast pace a real plus for him here I've backed him each way with up to 7 places on offer with Skybet
