The Marsh Novices' Chase has quickly established itself as a key novice chase and often attracts the top staying novices who don't quite want the gruelling test of the RSA yet.

In what is a very open race, the market revolves around two former superstars – Faugheen who is still high class at 12, and Samcro who is still something of a let down after his sensational novice hurdle campaign.

Both win this at their best, however they are taking on an improving six-year old in Itchy Feet (9/2 Betfair) who is younger, has course form and is a Grade 1 winner over fences. He should be too good for them here.

About Author

I grew up watching Hearts games with my dad and playing football at every opportunity so betting on it was the logical next step! Football coupons became a Saturday ritual and it introduced me into the world of horse racing. I started watching it on a regular basis, and after Galileo's Derby win in 2001 I was hooked. I follow both flat and national hunt racing attending the northern meetings when possible.
