After Alisson’s last minute heroics at the weekend, qualification for the Champions League is now firmly in Liverpool’s hands but a trip to Turf Moor is anything but a foregone conclusion.

For all Liverpool’s possession at The Hawthorns, they benefit from a couple of poor refereeing decisions in what was a tough encounter and I expect the same thing against Sean Dyche’s side.

Liverpool are hardly the free-flowing side we saw last season but they definitely look better going forward than they do defensively, as was evidenced by the four goals that they scored at Old Trafford last week. Both teams have found the net in five of their last six Premier League matches and I expect Burnley to do the same on Wednesday night.

Sean Dyche’s men lost 4-0 to Leeds at the weekend but actually had as many shots as their opponents – 16 – and that game broke a run of nine consecutive matches in which they have scored. Striker Chris Wood has scored eight goals in those games (scoring in six of them) and I think he can find the net again tonight. Wood is 12/5 with Unibet, which seems huge for a man with such a good recent record, especially against such a makeshift Liverpool backline.

Ultimately I do expect Jurgen Klopp’s side to prevail though and while the 7/5 on Liverpool and BTTS may seem skinny, given Burnley’s recent attacking output, I expect there to be goals in Lancashire on Wednesday night.
