Given how poor their performance data has been this season, I did not think there would be many opportunities for me to side with Newcastle. However, a visit to a struggling Bournemouth side affords me that opportunity.

Prior to their loss against Manchester City at the weekend, Steve Bruce’s side were unbeaten in five games and some of their performances have been pretty impressive. Since the restart, they have drawn with Aston Villa and beaten a previously impressive Sheffield United outfit. While they were aided by the Blades going down to 10 men, they were the better side throughout that encounter.

Their lack of goals from their front players is well known, with Joelinton managing just his second of the season in that victory over Sheffield United.  Allan St-Maximum is, however, a constant threat, with the Frenchman scoring in two of his last three games.

Moreover, in contrast to Bournemouth, they have a fairly solid backline, conceding 42 goals so far this season, eight fewer than Wednesday night's opponents. Eddie Howe’s side have managed just one shot on target from their two matches since lockdown and are certainly missing Ryan Fraser (out of contract), Callum Wilson (suspended) and may also have to do without Josh King.

The Dorset side may have the greater need but I think at 6/5 with Paddy Power, Bruce’s dogged outfit represent decent value in the Draw No Bet market.

I have loved numbers and sport throughout my life, so betting was a natural step. I started writing my own betting column at university and have continued throughout my adult life. I bet on football, golf and the NFL mainly but two flies going up a wall could also capture my attention. I am a West Brom fan and also follow teams in other sports but I think it's fair to say that no side compare with The Baggies!
