CARD KING Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) heads to the Championship on Wednesday for his next slice of bookings goodness.

Preston v Huddersfield | Wednesday 19.45

Championship action continues on Wednesday evening with a northern affair between Preston and Huddersfield at Deepdale.

Preston have won their last two home matches against Wigan and Aston Villa. They welcome fourth-placed Huddersfield who lost to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

The hosts haven't lost to the Terriers at home since 1969 and this match should have added spice for North End boss Simon Grayson who was sacked by Huddersfield in 2013 after leading them to promotion six months earlier.

Jeremy Simpson gets the whistle for this battle. He averages 5.70 cards per-game at Championship level so far this season. That is high by English standards.

Huddersfield have collected the fourth most yellow cards in England's second division so far in 2016/17. Preston are just below halfway in that particular measurement.

What interests me though is this referee. Over 45 Bookings Points has an obvious chance given his stats.

However, I'm looking for more value.

In his seven Championship matches this term Simpson has given out second-half card totals of 4-5-3-5-3-4-3. In short, 75% of his cards are dished out after the interval.

Huddersfield typically get 59% of their cards after the half-time oranges are handed out and Preston an even higher 76%.

I'm recommending Over 3 Second-Half Cards at 9/5 with William Hill.

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
