Bookings Tips | Champions League | 4th November 2015 | BT Sport Extra

CARD king Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) has highlighted three potential ways to profit with a bookings bet on Wednesday night’s Champions League action.

Roma v Bayer Leverkusen | Wednesday 19.45 | BT Sport Extra

Roma are still looking for their first win in Group E and will try again to pocket maximum points when they welcome Bayer Leverkusen to the Italian capital on matchday four.

Rudi Garcia's men came from two goals down to lead Leverkusen 4-2 entering the final six minutes of the sides' encounter in Germany a fortnight ago but had to settle for a point after late strikes by Kevin Kampl and Admir Mehmedi.

For rock-bottom Roma it do-or-die in their bid for qualification and I expect plenty of passion in the Eternal City on Wednesday night.

The Giallorossi average two cards-per-game in Europe this term with Leverkusen just higher with 2.33 cards-per-game. There were four cards dished out at the BayArena two weeks ago.

Russian referee Sergey Karasev is in charge of the whistle and he doesn't tend to mess about. He averages 6.3 cards-per-game in his past 10 games including seven yellows and two reds in his most recent domestic match.

In five the last seven fixtures that Karasev’s officiated, he’s dished out a red card.

I like the look of backing Over 45 bookings points at 3/4 with William Hill.

If you’re new to bookings points – a yellow card earns 10 points and a red card earns 25 points. If a player receives two yellow cards and is consequently shown a red card, he receives a total of 35 booking points.

As an example, five yellow cards in the match will total 50 bookings points and see this bet profit.

Should three players receive cautions and one see two yellows turn into a red, the match will have produced 65 bookings points.

Olympiakos v Dynamo Zagreb | Wednesday 19.45 | BT Sport Extra

With Arsenal visiting Bayern Munich in the Group F game on Wednesday, both Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb know the importance of this battle in Greece.

Spaniard whistleblower Antonio Mateu Lahoz is the man in charge here and he averages 5.5 cards-per-game this season.

He showed seven yellows when taking control of his one and only Champions League encounter this term, Porto’s match with Chelsea.

Olympiakos are averaging three cards-per-game Europe during their 2015/16 travails with visitors Dynamo slightly lower with 2.67 cards-per-game.

There were four bookings in the first meeting between these two and I expect more this time around. I'm recommending another play on Over 45 bookings points with William Hill at 17/20.

Gent v Valencia | Wednesday 19.45 | BT Sport Extra

Valencia will go in search of the win that could secure qualification for the Champions League knockout rounds when they visit Gent.

Valencia's 2-1 home victory against the Belgians last time out means the hosts are probably in the last chance saloon, needing three points to keep their own hopes of progression alive.

Eight cards were flashed when the duo locked horns in Spain a fortnight ago and I expect a similar outcome this midweek.

Los Che average 3.33 cards-per-game in European competition whilst hosts Gent have notched up a huge 4.33 cards-per-game on average.

Italian referee Daniele Orsato is on duty in Gent and he’s averaging 6.58 cards-per-game this season.

Statistically, this is the game of the week from an overs perspective. I did consider Over 55 bookings points at a chunky 23/20 but I'll play it safer by recommending Over 45 bookings points again at 8/13 with William Hill.

If you do fancy taking on the treble, it pays £52 from a £10 stake with William Hill.

Best Bets

Roma v Bayer Leverkusen – Over 45 bookings points (3/4 William Hill)

Olympiakos v Dynamo Zagreb – Over 45 bookings points (17/20 William Hill)

Gent v Valencia – Over 45 bookings points (8/13 William Hill)

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
