CARD KING Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) highlights the bookings value in Saturday's big Serie A match from Turin.

Juventus v Roma | Saturday 19:45 | BT Sport

Italy's top-two meet in Turin on Saturday night as champions Juventus welcome wannabes Roma.

The Old Lady hold a four-point advantage at the top of Serie A and this match looks set to continue the recent titanic tussles between these two rivals.

The past six meetings have been split with Juve winning three, Roma twice and one draw.

From a card perspective the past five encounters between this pair have produced total card counts of 6-10-12-13-5 – an average of 9.20 cards per-game.

This season both have been well disciplined. Roma have accumulated 28 yellows compared to 33 for Juventus.

Neither club has had a player sent off yet. However, that could change here because there have been six red cards in the past four meetings.

Orsato's the official in charge

Vicenza native Daniele Orsato gets the whistle for this showdown and he averages 5.85 cards per-game in Italy's top flight this term.

Interestingly, in his Orsato’s seven league matches he hasn't really covered many important fixtures. Therefore, to be given this game is an intriguing choice by the Italian FA. Will he crumble?

The 41 year-old typically gives Juventus 2.73 cards per-game over his career and 3.28 to Roma. That suggests that 6.00 cards could reasonably be expected here.

Whilst both clubs have avoided card punishment so far this season they have demonstrated a tendency to pick up cards when they play each other.

The betting angle

With a red-hot atmosphere in Turin guaranteed, a recent fixture average of 9.20 cards per-game and a referee averaging 5.85 per-game, I'm backing Over 55 Bookings Points at 10/11 with William Hill.

If you’re new to Bookings Points, a yellow card earns 10 Bookings Points and a red card earns 25 Bookings Points. If a player receives two yellow cards and is consequently shown a red card, he receives a total of 35 Bookings Points.

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
