THE EUROPA LEAGUE Last 16 concludes on Thursday night as Arsenal welcome Rennes to The Emirates. Adam Goodwin (@AdamGoodwin__) shares his betting thoughts.

Arsenal’s home form is unbelievable at the moment, winning all but two of their last 13 games. The Gunners have also got an impressive record at the Emirates in the Europa League too, winning all but four of their games at home in this competition – losing just one of those in a shock defeat to Ostersunds.

Alexandre Lacazette has been serving a suspension in this competition and will be keen to strike on his return to the starting XI. He played well in the Gunners win against Manchester United and I fancy him to bag against a team from his homeland.

Rennes

Rennes have lost their last three away games in the league, one of those admittedly coming against champions-elect PSG. After their win the first-leg, they struggled until Arsenal had a man sent-off and also thrived off a good atmosphere at home – which I don’t think will be present at the Emirates.

They have scored in 26/27 of their recent away games so I wouldn’t put anyone off the Arsenal to win and Both Teams To Score but the Gunners’ defence has improved in recent times so I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them keep a clean sheet.

The betting angle

The bet I’m going for here is Lacazette to score and Arsenal to win at 23/20 with SkyBet.

He’s been overshadowed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the last few weeks but, in a games where I can see quite a few goals, I think the Frenchman will get on the scoresheet in an Arsenal win.

I got into betting through my love of sport and started as soon as I turned 18. Football is the main sport I bet on and I like to try out new and obscure markets to try and find value. You can't beat a 8-fold accumulator on a Saturday though! I support Reading and try to get to as many games as possible when I'm back home from university.
