MORE big-priced winners from Gavin Horsfall (GHorsfall) last weekend. So who’s next up in his world famous notebook?

Back to winning ways last weekend thanks to a Matt Grimes late goal as Exeter continued their good run of scoring form against Carlisle.

With James Wesolowski missing for Shrewsbury it left Jon Obika with a chance to secure a double. Despite putting the ball in the net and missing a series of chances, he couldn’t add to the three goals served up by Swindon in their win at Notts County.

Accrington Stanley v Wycombe Wanderers | Saturday 15.00

Wycombe avoided three straight home defeats with a comprehensive win over Southend at Adams Park last weekend. Defeat to Wimbledon in the FA Cup the week prior came with a few reasonable excuses; several loan players were made unavailable for the tie and Paris Cowan-Hall sat out through suspension.

They put to bed any fears that the defeat was anything more than a blip with that win at the weekend and as backers we should be more confident that the Wycombe side that won against Southend is a better reflection of their current status in the division than the cup defeat a week earlier.

They take the league’s most prolific away scoring record to Accrington this weekend who boast the league’s third worst defence and it’s the former Plymouth man Cowan-Hall that makes the Notebook

. Putting up players who’ve scored three in their last three isn’t really the done thing for this column so I’ll tell you why the 7/2 is still value – Wycombe’s front-three of Paul Hayes, Matt McClure/ Steven Craig and PCH is as genuine a front-three as you will see.

Look for Cowan-Hall in the area when the ball comes down the left and spearheading counter attacks when the ball is down the other end, Hayes, and either McClure or Craig, continue to go off at half the price with layers, who perhaps haven’t quite woken up to the threat PCH poses.

Crewe Alexandra v Bristol City | Saturday 15.00

There’s a feeling amongst many a judge that Crewe are about to pop up at a nice price in the near future.

The additions of Iche Ikpeazu from Watford and Nicky Ajose from Leeds should pose more problems for upcoming defences than the seven games prior to the loanees introduction earlier this month; Crewe scored just 2 from open play in that run.

On closer analysis of the games at Doncaster and Scunthorpe, you could easily make a case for Steve Davis’ men deserving more than the one point they came away with. That’s no bad thing for punters though as it means we might just be able to get ahead of the game.

Whether that win comes on Saturday looks up for debate mind. Bristol City come looking for a fifth straight clean sheet but shouldn’t expect it all their own way.

It’s Ajose who gets the nod. He was off the mark last weekend against Scunthorpe and whatever the solid claims of the opposition this weekend, you’re getting 7/2 (Paddy Power) on a player that scored 17 goals in this division last season, including two against Saturday’s opponents for Swindon.

Best Bets
