THE colossal knowledge of Danny Mercer (OneDannyMercer) gets another airing here as he gives us two Anytime Goalscorer picks for the weekend.

Aldershot v Welling | Saturday 15:00

This is a huge game in the Conference on Saturday! Both these bottom half sides are in awful form at the moment with each suffering five consecutive defeats.

Jody Brown was a shock appointment when he got the Welling job but his side look on the up due to their sensible recruitment. They've brought in a smattering of good players and the loan transfer of Jason Williams from Southend could be hugely significant.

Williams is only 19, but you wouldn't think that by looking at him. He's got bucketloads of pace and power, and that's a massive asset at this level.

He had a recent loan spell at Chelmsford which bred six goals in eight matches so he should fit in well here. His debut last week against Macclesfield was impressive as he caused them loads of problems and played a key part in Dominic Vose's opener.

Aldershot haven't kept a clean sheet in 12 league games now, so I reckon Williams will get chances on Saturday. The 100/30 with Bet365 to notch anytime is massive in my opinion.

Braintree v Alfreton Town | Saturday 15:00

John Johnston could be crucial in helping Alfreton stay in this division. The 20 year old is so good at this level and I'll be backing him to score on Saturday.

He was awesome last season for Leek Town scoring goals from midfield. Those performances caught the eye of Crewe who snapped him up before loaning him back to finish the season at Leek. He's recently been released by Crewe, but in all honesty never got a chance he deserved. I'm sure he'll reignite his career at Alfreton.

Johnston is lightning quick, is direct in his play and seems to be improving game by game. He caused Forest Green numerous problems on Tuesday night hitting the bar and scoring his first goal for the club.

The ex-Crewe man is a confidence player, but believe me he can roast anyone. At 8/1 to score with Bet365 he's a big value bet. Yes, Alfreton are struggling, but for me they have quality in the final third now and with 21 goals scored in their last 10 games it all points to Johnston getting chances.

Best Bets

Aldershot v Welling – Jason Williams to score anytime (100/30 Bet365)

Braintree v Alfreton Town – John Johnston to score anytime (8/1 Bet365)

I was brought into the betting world from a young age when my parents asked me to pick out a few horses. I’ve been hooked since but only seriously started punting in the past four years. I’ve used my wealth of knowledge from the English game along with my passion for stats and trends to try to find that winning angle. I work hard but enjoy nothing more than studying the form in the hope of getting that extra edge, whether it be from the non-leagues or the Premier League. And if I can help anyone pocket a few quid, it makes the hard work even more worthwhile.
