Liverpool will be full of confidence after their 5-0 demolition of Watford at the weekend, the Reds have been in free-scoring form and can go a decent way to topping their group if they get the better of Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Many will be tempted by the 13/10 on offer for Liverpool to win and you can see why. Atletico have injury and suspension issues and Stefan Savic and Jose Gimenez are unavailable or rated as major doubts, whereas Marcos Llorente may not be 100% fit.

Although the hosts are usually strong defensively under Diego Simeone they may come unstuck here against a red hot Liverpool attack. The front 3 are all firing and that makes the 13/10 on Liverpool to score over 1.5 goals a sound looking selection. It’s only failed to land in the home draw against Chelsea this term.

Liverpool have also been corner kings this season. They racked up 9 at Vicarage Road and that kind of volume is not a flash in the pan. The Reds have hit 8, 11, 10, 11, 12, 10 and 3 corners in their league games, winning the corner count by at least 4 in all bar 1 game.

We can get Liverpool -1 Asian corner handicap at 20/23 (Bet365) and that appeals. Barring a mad game against Villarreal where Atleti hit 16 corners to 0 they’ve been averaging pretty mediocre corner counts.

Here we would make profit if the visitors win the corner count by at least 2, however we would have our stakes returned if they won by exactly 1 corner.

About Author

I was first interested in the betting industry by doing the odd coupon at 18 - when I’d see a team at odds I didn’t expect it sparked my curiosity as to why that was. I’d go and research everything around that club: form, team news, manager quotes, and try give my own price in an aim to out-do the bookies. I personally enjoy punting on the Football League and European competitions. I like to diversify what markets I bet on so sometimes it’s outrights, goals, player cards etc. The Football League angle comes from being an avid Bradford City fan which has its ups (reaching a League Cup final and beating Chelsea in the FA Cup) and its downs (The entirety of 2018). Hobbies of mine include playing football, cross country running, travelling and playing Football Manager.
