Watford v Arsenal: Back Gunners to out-gun Hornets

WATFORD welcome Arsenal to Vicarage Road on Super Sunday. Daniel McCulloch (@DMcCulloch1984) delivers his best bet verdict.

Watford v Arsenal | Sunday 15th September 2019, 16:30 | Sky Sports

The team that I find hardest to bet on face the team that I find easiest to make a call on face off at Vicarage Road on Sunday with the added complication of Watford having replaced Javi Gracia with Quique Sanchez Flores.

Goals are clearly expected in this encounter with both teams to score landing in 28 of Arsenal’s 40 matches with Unai Emery at the helm. Moreover, it has occurred in nine of Watford’s last 12 home games against the Big Six. That said, 1/2 on such a bet is simply too short so I have to find an alternative market.

In such circumstances, correct scores usually take my fancy and that is the case on this occasion. Watford lost 2-1 at home to three of the big six last season and Arsenal also won in this manner on three occasions away from home against sides from seventh down. With this in mind the 17/2 with 10Bet on a 2-1 victory for the away side looks very appetising.

A simpler angle may be to take The Gunners at 12/5 with Bet365 in the Arsenal and Both Teams To Score market. While Watford may have a new manager – who is possibly more conservation than their last – it won’t change the way Arsenal approach this game.

Emery knows that his side is still very deficient defensively and with the likes of Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin still out for a couple of weeks I expect a ‘we will score more than you’ approach from Arsenal.

This bet has obliged in six of Emery’s 15 matches away to sides from seventh down and this price looks simply too big to me given both sides defensive concerns and the quality of Arsenal’s attacking options.

Best Bets

Watford v Arsenal – Arsenal to win and Both Teams To Score (12/5 Bet365)

Watford v Arsenal – Arsenal to win 2-1 (17/2 10Bet)

I am a West Brom fan and also follow teams in other sports but I think it's fair to say that no side compare with The Baggies!
