PREMIER LEAGUE expert Ross Casey (@RossCasey24) is back to attack Sunday's late afternoon showdown between Man Utd and Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Man Utd v Bournemouth| Sunday 30th December 2018, 16:30 | Sky Sports
Man Utd sensationally sacked Jose Mourinho and replaced him with former Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer until the end of the season. Since then the change around Old Trafford has been remarkable, with a 5-1 win over The Bluebirds and a 3-1 victory against Huddersfield. Eight goals in two games!
Thanks to the vast turnaround – albeit against two poor sides in this division – the bookies now make Man Utd a very short best price of just 7/19 with RedZone.
Bournemouth started the season very well, but have had an alarming downfall of late. The Cherries have lost eight of their last 10 matches and have particularly struggled away from home, losing each of their last five. For that reason, the bookies are unconvinced by them here and make Eddie Howe's men a best price of 17/2 with William Hill.
Man Utd
The Red Devils have scored eight goals in their last two matches and whilst the shackles appear to have been removed, it should be noted that goals were actually not that big a problem – even under Jose Mourinho.
They had scored in 18 games under Jose Mourinho. It is actually keeping the goals out this time around that is a problem. With the likelihood of goals from The Red Devils high, it is important to note that eight sides have a better defensive record than Man Utd at home this season. In fact – they have conceded 31 league goals this season, which is already more than the whole of last season.
I think that the 5/6 available on man Utd to win and for there to be over 2.5 goals is a decent shout here. The goals are flooding in for Man Utd up front and Bournemouth are very leaky on the road. Only five sides have conceded more than them away from home and Tottenham beat them 5-0 last time out.
Bournemouth
The bookies don't give Bournemouth much hope here and I would have to agree with them. However, you probably could look at the both teams to score market in this one, thanks to the fact that Man Utd have kept just two clean sheets at Old Trafford all season long. You can get odds of 13/16 with Unibet that the selection comes in.
The betting angle
This match to me looks like another great opportunity for the players at Old Trafford to express themselves in their new attacking manner and I would be worried if I was a Bournemouth supporter.
For me, both of my selections look worthwhile options, so I will be recommending both Man Utd to win & over 2.5 goals and both teams to score.
