PREMIER LEAGUE expert Ross Casey (@RossCasey24) unpicks Tuesday night's televised clash as Watford host league leaders Manchester City at Vicarage Road.
Watford v Manchester City | Tuesday 4th December 2018, 20:00 | BT Sport
After an electric start to the season, Watford were one of just three teams on maximum points after four games. The Hornets couldn't continue that excellent form though and are now in 10th on a run of four games without a victory.
Javi Gracia's group have lost their last two home games against Man City 6-0 and 5-0, so it is little surprise that they are as big as 11/1 with BetVictor to win at Vicarage Road this midweek. In fact, the Hornets have failed to win this fixture in 13 attempts – their last success was way back in 1989!
The Citizens, on the other hand, are flying high at the top of the Premier League table again. City remain undefeated in the Premier League ,and undefeated across all competitions away from home. You can get Pep Guardiola's men at a best price of 6/19 with Unibet.
Watford
As I have already noted, Watford are on a poor run of form of late and have a horrible record against Guardiola at Vicarage Road. However, there are small signs of hope.
Only seven sides have scored more goals at home than Watford in the Premier League, and against a City side that have conceded in three of their last four games, they may well fancy getting on the scoresheet.
You can get 10/11 on Both Teams To Score, or if you are more impressed with the fact that Man City have conceded just one away goal in the Premier League this season, you can grab yourself evens on No in the same market.
Man City
Man City have a pretty stupendous record here, but the likelihood of another drubbing at Vicarage Road may actually be slim when you consider that City have netted 17 fewer goals on the road than they have at The Etihad in the Premier League.
The Citizens are averaging just over two goals per-game away, and so to achieve a winning margin of two could be a decent shout to some at 31/10.
The betting angle
Man City are without Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero for this clash and that is a real blow to their attacking options, with Gabriel Jesus scoring in just one of his last seven matches for Pep.
It is fair to say that Raheem Sterling has more than stepped up to the plate this season, netting 11 times. However, only two of those goals have come away and for me, I actually think this is a potential banana skin for City.
I am going to be brave here and suggest that a Watford side with nothing to lose can cause the biggest shock of the season so far and pick up a win against the league leaders at a very big price of 11/1 with BetVictor.
