National League: Oppose the Gulls when the in form Shots take a trip away

NON-LEAGUE expert Paul Maddison (@LouthBigDog) shares his favourite fancies from a Saturday card of National League action.

Bromley v Dover| Saturday 2nd December 2017, 15:00

I'm not expecting this to be the greatest of games and I really can't see this being a goal fest. Bromley is slightly Jekyll and Hyde in their home and away stats. Away from home, there are only two teams who have had over 2.5 goals land in their games, however, at home, they have seen three of their 11 goals go over the 2.5 mark, including four of their last five.

It doesn't seem to matter if Dover is home or away, they seem to be in low scoring games week in week out, just 5 of their 22 games have seen three or more goals, at an average of 1.9 goals per game. Only Wrexham have been involved in games with less goals than Dover this season. Away from home just two of their 11 games have seen over 2.5 goals.

William Hill have priced the under up at 10/11 and that looks a good price.

Wrexham v Maidenhead| Saturday 2nd December 2017, 15:00

The Dragons will be looking to put last week’s defeat, that knocked them off the top of the table, behind them quickly. A home game against mid table Maidenhead may just be the perfect opportunity to do just that. I say mid table, they currently sit in 14th place, but with no team putting a decent run together at the top, Maidenhead actually sit just nine points off the top spot.

Wrexham’s good start to the season has been built around their defence, helped massively by the arrival of Shaun Pearson. They have conceded just 14 goals in 22 matches so far, their problem lies at the other end of the pitch where only Guiseley have scores fewer goals. They do however scrape out plenty of narrow wins, when you keep regular clean sheets you don't need to score many to win games. They have won three of their last four at home and are unbeaten at home in 10, keeping 6 clean sheets in the process.

Maidenhead has won just one of their last eight matches, failing to score in three of them. Wrexham won the reverse fixture earlier on in the season and I expect a similar outcome here.

Wrexham are available at 109/100 with Marathon Bet.

Torquay v Aldershot | Saturday 2nd December 2017, 15:00

Top of the table Aldershot travel to the south Coast to take on 22nd place Torquay and the price for an away win looks too big for me, I just hope this seasons curse of the top spot doesn't strike again.

No team seems to want to stay top for longer than one or two weeks. The Shots are in decent form winning four in a row, keeping three clean sheets in a row, including two clean sheets in their last two away games.

The Gulls have lost over half of their home games, including 3 of their last 4, failing to score in those three defeats. I can't see past an away win here. That's been priced up at 8/5 with William Hill.

Best Bets

Bromley v Dover – Under 2.5 Goals  (10/11 William Hill)

Wrexham v Maidenhead – Wrexham to win (109/100 Marathon)

Torquay v Aldershot – Aldershot to win t0 Win  (8/5 William Hill)
