Watford v Arsenal | Saturday 17:30 | Sky Sports 1

After their explosive 3-0 win over Manchester United before the international break things are rosy in the Arsenal garden again. That's very much reflected in the odds for this game as 13/20 is as the biggest price you can get. Those odds make no appeal to me.

Just when you think things are smooth in Islington the Gunners unexpectedly trip up and while I'm not saying that will happen here, it does put me off backing them at skinny odds.

I'm not sure the odds compilers are giving Watford enough respect here. No side in the division have conceded fewer goals than The Hornets (imagine suggesting that at the start of the campaign!) and they've won two of their last four matches.

Quique Sanchez Flores' side have conceded just seven goals in the league this season and have lost a mere two of their eight matches. They've drawn at Everton, beaten Swansea and got a point against Southampton. The fact they've played five of last season's Top 11 already gives their 12th position more credence.

Only Everton (on opening day) and title favourites Man City have breached them more than once and I think Arsenal may find it hard to break them down.

Okay the Gunners have scored eight in their last two league games but cast your mind further back and they only scored once against Newcastle and drew blanks against Liverpool and Chelsea.

At odds of 14/5 on Arsenal winning by exactly one goal looks a value bet. It's paid out in two of their away league games this season and we're all aware how stodgy this Watford defence is.

Best Bets

Watford v Arsenal – Arsenal to win by exactly one goal (14/5 Stan James)
