FIVE consecutive profitable Anytime Notebooks and a 3/1 winner last time from Gavin Horsfall (@GHorsfall). Who’s next on his Anytime Goalscorer hit-list?

Exeter v Hartlepool | Saturday 15.00

Exeter at home to Hartlepool strikes you as the kind of game that might have a goal or two; seven of the home side’s nine games this season have gone Over 2.5 Goals while Hartlepool look at their inconsistent best.

I’ve no shame here in putting up David Wheeler (4/1 Paddy Power) for the second time this year at what continues to be a very backable price. Four goals in seven for the 24-year old who operates from the right-hand side behind Tom Nichols but who regular gets ahead of Alex Nicholls on the opposing side who goes off half the price.

I’ve got Wheeler only a shot or two behind on my count so will stick with him here.

Carlisle v Dagenham & Redbridge | Saturday 15.00

An excellent start to September for Dagenham who came into the month winless but who have now racked up two wins on the trot, including coming from behind to beat Northampton 2-1 last week.

There’s every chance they can continue that run when they visit Carlisle on Saturday where the home side look a long way from keeping a clean sheet.

Former Walsall man Ashley Hemmings (5/1 Bet365) flitted from the left-hand side of a midfield four to the left-hand side of a front three in that win at Northampton and continues to get in the decent positons that has seen him score two in the last three.

Hemmings continues the theme of attack-minded midfielders that should bely their odds this weekend.

Portsmouth v Barnet | Saturday 15.00

A tough start for Barnet who’ve lost four of their opening six games but I’m almost positive the goals expectation bettors will have half an eye on them as they still seem to be creating plenty.

They visit Portsmouth on Saturday who’ve looked very ‘Paul Cook’ like over the last fortnight – plenty of good possession but just one win in six games.

There’s every chance the home side could feel vulnerable here expecting three points so I’ll take a chance on Bira Dembele (14/1 Boylesports) to leap highest at a Barnet set-piece. Dembele was a huge threat in the 3-2 loss at Carlisle – scoring one and hitting the bar.

His rangy, well-timed runs could cause Pompey problems.

Carlisle v Dagenham & Redbridge – Ashley Hemmings to score at anytime (5/1 Bet365)

While the betting landscape may have changed, it’s still all about solving puzzles and although edges have got smaller, there are still profitable angles for punters lower down the football pyramid.
