MARK O’Haire (@MarkOHaire) is back in Serie A this weekend chasing another big value bet from the peninsula.

Palermo v Atalanta | Sunday 14.00

With both Parma and Cesena heading for relegation, just one place in the Serie A drop zone is still to be decided in Italy and with just four games to play, things are hotting up down the bottom.

Atalanta sit just six points above survival and this weekend they face a difficult trip to Sicily to face Palermo. La Dea have recorded just two wins in 17 on the road and will be well aware of Rosanero’s outstanding return of W8-D6-L3 at their formidable Stadio Renzo Barbera base.

Giuseppe Iachini’s hosts have equipped themselves superbly since promotion back to the top-flight but in recent weeks, Palermo have failed to spark as they did in the first half of the season. Just four three-pointers in 17 has stunted their progress but the Islanders remain destined for a mid-table finish.

Atalanta have become known as the draw specialists under Edy Reja. Their W1-D7-L1 figures under the former Lazio boss have kept their heads above water but it’s their penchant for goals at both ends of the field that stands out most from a betting perspective.

The visitors have seen Both Teams Score in 12 of their past 14 league outings, including five of their last six on the road. A repeat can be backed at 17/20 with Ladbrokes and that’s a price worth taking when you consider the net has also bulged in 12/17 (71%) of Palermo’s fixtures at the Stadio Renzo Barbera this term.

As well as those excellent figures in our favour, it’s worth noting that Atalanta have only failed to notch in three of their previous 19 whilst the Rosanero have netted in all bar three of their 17 Serie A matches as hosts and two of those fixtures were against Juve and Lazio.
