Valencia’s showdown with Rayo should bring us goals. The hosts have been shut out in their last two outings at the Mestalla by Barcelona and Athletic but there was enough in those performances to believe they’ll soon hit the scoring trail again soon.

Paco Alcacar will be missing for Los Che but they can still call up Alvaro Negredo. The Beast scored his first goal since his summer move last weekend and the Bats shouldn’t have too many issues in the attacking third.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have secured five wins on home soil this season with all five coming by a two-goal margin with Los Che leading at the interval in all five. They’ll expect to make a fast start again on Saturday evening.

Despite those impressive stats it’s worth noting they’ve now leaked in eight of their last nine matches whilst 19 of their previous 25 as hosts have produced Over 2.5 Goals winners including 15/18 when they’ve conceded.

Rayo have won three on the road this season but all have come against La Liga’s bottom-half. Paco Jemez’s men have picked the ball out of the back of their own net on 13 occasions in three losing trips to top-half teams. In fact, the Madrid-based club conceded an average of four goals-per-game in eight trips to top-eight teams last season.

But Rayo have netted in six of their last seven on the road whilst 14 of 26 matches since the start of last season saw at least four goals plundered in their road games.

Cordoba v Levante | Saturday 19.00 | Sky Sports 5

I was absolutely delighted to see Cordoba finally get off the mark with their first win of the season last weekend. It was a real coupon-buster as they went to Athletic and grabbed all three points to move off the bottom of the table.

The decision to axe Albert Ferrer as boss still looks incredibly harsh but Miroslav Djukic deserves plenty of credit for building on the good foundations at the club. Since taking charge, the Andalusians have suffered only two defeats in six – at champions Atletico Madrid and a thome to Villarreal.

But what’s impressed me is Cordoba’s ability to nick a goal in matches. They may only have 11 goals to their name but they’ve scored in 9/14 La Liga matches and should be in buoyant mood after last week’s win for the visit of fellow-scrappers Levante.

Like Cordoba, Levante have changed coach already this season. Lucas Alcaraz is the new man in the dugout and he’s guided the Frogs to a reasonable W2-D2-L2 record in his first six matches.

Levante have netted in their last five La Liga games whilst they also boast the division’s worst defence, conceding nearly two goals-per-game on average. All considered, the 23/20 from BetVictor on Both Teams To Score from BetVictor looks worth a small poke on Saturday night.
