OUR card man Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) reckons there's an angle on Tuesday night's Upton Park finale.

West Ham v Manchester United | Tuesday 19:45 | Sky Sports 1

West Ham and Manchester United couldn't be described as best friends and Tuesday's battle promises to be spicy.

It's the Hammers last game at Upton Park and Manchester United have a great opportunity to snatch the last Champions League place from bitter rivals Manchester City. Mike Dean is the man with the whistle. He averages 3.83 cards per game this season but he tends to show more cards in televised matches.

The past five encounters between these two teams read as 4-6-1-7-6, an average of 4.8 per game. Mark Clattenburg was the ref on the occasion of just one card in a nil nil draw so that should probably be ignored as it is an anomaly and distorts the average. Without it the average rises to 5.75 per game.

Dean has covered The Red Devils five times this season giving cards in those games of 4-6-4-4-6, an average of 4.8 The whisteblower from the Wirral has covered West Ham four times averaging three per game.

Dean is in good form too. In his last four league appearances he is averaging six per game. He is not everybody's cup of tea but as a card punter I like him cos he will get his cards out! I expect plenty of niggle in this game and over 40pts at 10/11 with Paddy Power looks well worth backing.

About Author

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
