GAVIN Murphy’s (@GamePlanGavin) been in unbeatable form lately. Now he’s sounding bullish about Tuesday night’s selection from Spain.

Atletico Madrid v Getafe | Tuesday 19.00 | Sky Sports 2

La Liga action gathers pace this week and on Tuesday night we’ve a Madrid derby to look forward to Atletico play host to Getafe.

I have affectionately nicknamed the whistleblower in this one as ‘Senor Confetti’ as he tends to issue cards like he’s celebrating his best mate’s wedding. And my love for this referee has no limit! Alfonso Alvarez Izquierdo loves just a card.

In only two matches this term he’s brandished 15 yellows and two reds. Incredible.

Recently, this fixture has been littered with bookings. The past eight encounters average a huge 7.4 cards-per-game. In those eight matches, we’ve seen six sending’s off – four on the side of Getafe.

The Deep Blues are the poorer relations and as such, tend to get a little too involved – both physically and emotionally in the tie – and that always lends us a hand when looking for a pro-bookings bet.

I was interested to see that ‘Senor Confetti’ has officiated Getafe a fair bit. In his last nine Getafe games, he’s dished out four more cards on seven occasions – again great stats.

With Atletico likely to have long periods of possession at the hostile Vicente Calderon, the Deep Blues could well be in for another tough night. Throw in the fact that Getafe are the most ill-disciplined side in Spain with an average of 4.5 cards-per-game in 2015/16 having already picked up 18 yellows, and we’re onto something good.

The bet here is to back the 10/11 with William Hill on five or more cards being brandished.

Best Bets

Atletico Madrid v Getafe – Over 3.5 Getafe cards (10/11 William Hill)

Hi John, the market was actually Getafe to receive Over 4.5 cards and it’s since been updated. Our error. Apologies.
