THE live Premier League match on Tuesday brings together struggling Leicester and Liverpool. We got Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) to preview it for us.
Leicester v Liverpool | Tuesday 19:45 | BT Sport 1
That epic 5-3 victory for Leicester over Manchester United will be 72 days old by the time these sides meet on Tuesday night. But it probably feels like a lifetime ago for fans of the club!
Since that win, Leicester have played eight times and failed to win on every occasion. In that eight game series, they have picked up two draws, but both were home fixtures against fellow strugglers Burnley and Sunderland.
But maybe things are turning? After failing to score for nearly two months, they managed to score twice at the weekend against QPR. They also recorded their highest tally of shots since the Manchester United win. Okay, they still lost but it was a step in the right direction. Something to build on.
Liverpool will also have some tick marks on their weekend performance book. After no win in five, they managed to eke out a priceless 1-0 victory over Stoke on Saturday. It wasn’t pretty, but it might do a lot for team morale.
With this in mind, I can see both sides going into this game hoping to pick up points. Leicester may feel their attacking prowess on Saturday points to brighter times, while Liverpool’s more traditional line up at the weekend may be retained here along with the confidence that brings a much-needed victory.
The Over and Under markets are pretty much toss-of-a-coin material when looking at the prices, but I’ll side with the Overs after events of the weekend.
