TOTTENHAM take on Partizan at White Hart Lane knowing a victory will assure them of a place in the Europa League knockout stage.
Tottenham Hotspur v Partizan Belgrade | Thursday 20.05 | ITV 4
It’s difficult to find a value bet for Spurs’ meeting with Partizan on Thursday night. The Serbian side managed to hold the Londoners to a draw in the reverse fixture but are unlikely to be able to follow that up on their travels.
Partizan have lost all three Europa League matches since that goalless draw and their record in their previous 16 group-stage games have returned just D4-L12. It’s not something new, though. The Black & Whites have long been out of their depth when competing on the continental scene.
Looking back over their past 40 fixtures in European group-stage football and Partizan have W2-D10-L28. Meanwhile, Spurs have been almost unstoppable in this competition, W9-D3-L1 of their last 13 home Europa ties and W11-D6 in their 17 outings in the group-stage. No wonder the best price we can find on the hosts is just 1/4 (William Hill).
Instead, it might pay to have a play on Spurs to score in both halves at a very reasonable 10/11 with Ladbrokes. Tottenham have already notched eight goals in their four group games thus far and have also hit three or more goals in 9/14 Europa League matches at White Hart Lane.
It’s also worth checking out the team news before the match and if Harry Kane starts, the 11/10 on Kane scoring in a home win looks worthy of an investment with Betfred.
The 21-year-old local has seven goals in six games in the competition this season and bagged a hat-trick in Spurs’ last home group game and has since continued his rich vein of form in domestic action.
