Chesterfield v Barnsley | Saturday 15:00

I must admit I was surprised to see Barnsley as big as 3/1 with Skybet for their trip to Chesterfield on Saturday. Look, there's no doubt that Chesterfield deserve to be favourites, but Even money? No chance!

Paul Cook's side had an electric start to the campaign but won just one game in September and October and haven't won in seven overall now. Barnsley on the other hand are really starting to click.

Naturally with relegation there tends to be a lot of summer upheaval and that was certainly the case at Oakwell. They started the season poorly but have got their act together recently, with the players really gelling.

Barnsley have won two of their last three away games. They pulled off a superb win at Bramhall Lane against Sheffield United and tasted victory at in-form Rochdale. That's very respectable form.

Sam Winnall was a big signing for them in the summer from Scunthorpe and he's really started to hit form. He's notched six goals in four games and that included a wonderful hat-trick against Burton Albion in the FA Cup.

As well as Winnall, Barnsley have the offspring of Andy Cole (Devante) to call on. Oh and let's not forget Leroy Lita, Kane Hemmings, Ryan Williams and Marcella Trotta.

Other reasons to back The Tykes include the fact that Chesterfield will be without influential midfielder Sam Morsey through suspension, and the Yorkshire side should bring a healthy 2,500 crowd with them. The 3/1 with Skybet makes a lot of appeal to me.
