Jack Milner (@JJMSports) and Mike Triffitt (@michaeltriffitt) review the Football League season so far and look at how their ante-post bets have fared.

Championship

Jack's Pre Season Pick – Derby (10/1 now 3/1)

Michael's Pre Season Pick – Middlesbrough (20/1 to 7/1)

Comments: Derby are deserving favourites in this league and at 3/1 should go all the way to the title, although the league looks very tight this year.

League One

Jack – Sheffield United (11/2 now 12/1)

Michael – Bristol City (5/1 now 13/8)

Comments: Bristol City still look value as no other side is launching a challenge. They can afford to go through a bad patch and remain in contention. Doncaster look an improving team and should be backed at 6/1 to reach the play-offs.

League Two

Jack – Burton (14/1 now 4/1)

Michael – Portsmouth (5/1 now 14/1)

Comments: Just a suspicion that the wheels may have come off at Burton after a strong start. In truth League Two looks a weak section this year. Bury look a very solid side but there are serious question marks about their away form, while Portsmouth continue to disappoint. Plymouth might be a good bet at 4/1 for promotion.

I started working in the betting industry as a teenager, not necessarily legally, as a son of someone who has been in involved in Huddersfield’s leading independent bookmakers for nearly 35 years. Since then I've moved from Timebox to Coral to BetVictor. A lover of football, cricket, rugby, darts, golf and National Hunt Racing to mention but a few. Talk a good game, punt a dreadful one. You will catch me on the sun-laden astroturf pitches of Gibraltar or in an office watching horses run around a field or golfers hitting balls with a stick, generally with a few bob on both.
