PRO PUNTER Dino Vita (@VitaDino) delivers his verdict on the ante-post Scottish Premiership markets, picking out his best pre-season bets for the 2020/21 campaign.
WLB Season Preview 2020/21 | Scottish Premiership: Best Bets
A few ante-post bets have caught my eye over as we look ahead to the big kick-off in the Scottish Premiership. Celtic are as short at 4/9 to make it 10 titles in a row so I’m looking elsewhere for a bit value.
Aberdeen have been right up their in recent seasons as ‘best of the rest’ and were only a point off Motherwell when the season was ended with eight games still to play last term. Star men Sam Cosgrove and Lewis Ferguson are still here and keeping both will be crucial in hoping to reclaim another ‘Without Celtic & Ranges’ title honour at 11/10 (Bet365).
Livingston had an excellent season last year finishing in fifth and will look to repeat that feat and secure a top-six spot. Livi relied heavily on their home form – only losing twice as hosts and taking four points off champions Celtic at Almondvale. They’ll do well to hold on to striker Lyndon Dykes but I feel Livi will still fancy themselves for a top six at 7/4 (Bet365).
The relegation battle looks between three sides: Hamilton, St Mirren and Ross County. A bet I like is Ross County at 5/2 (BetVictor) to finish in bottom two.
The Highlanders can count themselves lucky the season was curtailed because I feel they were the out-of-form side at the end of last season, and if Hearts had put a run together, County could’ve been their side to replace them at the bottom.
There won’t be a lot between the bottom three again this season and every point will be crucial. But Ross appeal most in the relegation-based markets.
Best Bets
Scottish Premiership 2020/21 – Aberdeen without Celtic & Rangers (11/10 Bet365)
Scottish Premiership 2020/21 – Livingston top finish in the top-six (7/4 Bet365)
Scottish Premiership 2020/21 – Ross County to finish in bottom-two (5/2 BetVictor)
