WEST HAM host Leicester in Monday night's Premier League action. Chris Clark (@ChrisClark1975) shares his verdict.
West Ham vs Leicester | Monday 23rd August 2021, 20:00 | Sky Sports
Forgot the rest, this is the game of the weekend… albeit on a Monday night!
Two evenly matched sides, both full of early season optimism, both sides know they have to wrack up the wins to keep pace with the top four sides in the country. You can expect thrills and spills at the London stadium, and plenty of goals.
West Ham have started the season in fine style with an impressive four goals away to Newcastle, however at times they looked a bit suspect at the back, and Newcastle benefited with a couple of goals themselves, meanwhile having 18 attempts at Fabianski in the West Ham goal.
West Ham cannot afford to be that open against superior opposition. Leicester whilst keeping a clean sheet against Wolves, their opponents should have made more of the chances they created. Leicester last season conceded 50 goals in the league, only Leeds conceded more out of the top ten clubs, however only the two Manchester clubs scored more.
Expect goals on Monday night! Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals looks a stand-out play at 21/20 with
Boylesports.
Can we talk about Michail Antonio? Yes, he is made of glass, but when fit this guy should be a shoe-in for England squads. He bullies defences. He dominates full backs when playing down the channels. He scores goals. He takes a good penalty. If only his body wasn't held together by glue.
I fancy Michail with a full house of happy Hammers behind for the first time in 18 months to open the scoring, especially with a Leicester defence missing 75% of it's regular starters (Evans, Fofana, Justin) – 11/2 with
Bet365 is a price I'm happy to back.
Best Bets
West Ham vs Leicester – Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score (21/20 Boylesports)
West Ham vs Leicester – Michail Antonio to be the First Goalscorer (11/2 Bet365)
