Tottenham v Southampton | Sunday 14:05
I've been waiting in the wings over the last few weeks waiting for the right opportunity to take on Tottenham, and this week it's time to pounce. We saw how poor they were after their opening Europa League match two weeks ago when they lost 1-0 at home to West Brom and I think that pattern could continue on Sunday.
Tottenham, under new coach Mauricio Pochettino, have had a mixed start to the season. The draw against Arsenal on Saturday was encouraging but then defeats against West Brom and Liverpool less so. The Europa League/Premier League schedule is a brutal one and it's fairly obvious that Liverpool thrived last season without having the extra pressure of Europe.
Southampton have been excellent so far this season, with Over 1.5 Goals recorded in 4 of their last 5 games and I don't think they have anything to fear at White Hart Lane on Sunday. They can exploit the wide and full-back areas with new England recruit Nathaniel Clyne on top of his game just now. Tottenham's high line will play into their hands and they'll be able to get dangerous balls into key areas.
Overall, I just think Southampton are a real value bet. You can get 2/1 on them scoring 2 or more goals and I think they can do that. I expect them to set up similarly to how Liverpool did against Spurs at the end of August, and we all know how well that approach worked. Tottenham have done nothing this season to convince me that I need to keep them on side and I'm happy to back Southampton to score 2 or more at 2/1 with Coral.
Best Bet
