WILL Swansea make it three wins in a row over Manchester United? Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) previews the Super Sunday game.
Swansea v Manchester United | Sunday 16:00 | Sky Sports 1
You felt it was coming. And it arrived on Wednesday night. Manchester United clicked. Wayne Rooney clicked. Time to push on? Well, wait a sec, it was only Club Brugge that they beat 4-0. A decent side of course, but 3-1 down from the first leg they were in a vulnerable position.
Now it's unbeaten Swansea that they face on Sunday. A much more challenging proposition. So far in the league this season Manchester United have limped past Spurs 1-0, underwhelmed Villa with the same scoreline and failed to beat Newcastle at Old Trafford. It's hardly going to strike fear into the heart of Garry Monk's men.
Yes, that win midweek might liberate and bolster Louis Van Gaal's side and send them on a successful run of form but at odds of 11/8 today I'm happy to pass.
What's not to like about Swansea? They had their foot on the throat of Chelsea on opening day at Stamford Bridge and followed that up with a convincing win over Newcastle and away draw against a wounded Sunderland.
Monk's side look settled and dangerous. Andre Ayew has settled in well and the brilliant Bafetimbi Gomis can't keep scoring (oh Bafi!). There's no way I can take them on today.
Hey, look at these stats. Swansea have had 57 shots this league season so far, Man Utd just 38. The Swans have racked up 25 on target, United a meek 11.
So do you back a home win or the draw? The odds are pretty much the same at 12/5 and 5/2 respectively. I've no appetite at all to back them at 4/6 +1 so it's the draw for me. I slightly favour that over a Swansea win as I think Manchester United have improved from last season. Go Bafi!
