OUR man in Italy, Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) signed off for Christmas with 10 winners from 12 in Serie A. He's now back to attack Sunday's action.
Udinese v inter Milan | Sunday 11:30 | BT Sport
Udinese have recently improved their performances, picking up four positive results, with three wins and a draw, to pierce the top-half of the table.
The Zebrette’s scoring form, apart from the 0-0 against Sampdoria, has been consistent with every kind of opponent and I’m confident about the same to happen against Inter.
The Nerazzurri are also in a positive phase of their season, with three successive wins. In all of these matches Inter kept clean sheets, and this is something incredible considering the quantity of chances they’ve conceded to their opponents.
I am pretty sure that Udinese will exploit Inter’s defensive issues this time, while also the visitors should have the talent to come away with at least a point.
That is why I would back Both Teams To Score here at 8/11 (Matchbook).
Genoa v Roma | Sunday 14:00 | BT Sport
This maybe the most interesting match of Serie A weekend at Marassi, where Genoa are having a rollercoaster time, having beaten Juventus 3-1 but recently lost against Palermo in a match that they were leading by two goals until 20 minutes from the end.
The transfer window has been very costly for the hosts, having loss Leonardo Pavoletti and Tomas Rincon already. Despite having a magnificent substitute in Cholito as their central striker, the loss of Rincon in midfield could prove fatal to their defensive solidity.
Roma have the second-best attack in the league, and I don’t think that they will have problems finding the net here but the Giallorossi don’t have a very good away record and they’ve conceded a goal in all but one of their matches.
Both Teams To Score is again the bet at 4/6 (Matchbook).
Sassuolo v Torino | Sunday 14:00
Sassuolo have been very unlucky in recent games and their form of three consecutive losses does not do them justice.
In their loss against Cagliari they were down to 10 men for almost the whole match, but nevertheless they had been capable of scoring three goals, only surrendering to Cagliari at the end of the second-half.
They produced a similar performance against Fiorentina, where they wasted so many chances before finding the net in the final minutes.
Here, they will face Torino with aggressiveness and offensive mentality, as often happened in many of their games. At home, 70% of their matches have finished with more than two goals and moreover I like goals with Torino involved.
The Granata love goals and are also quite happy to concede if you think they are the sixth worst defence in Serie A, something very remarkable for a team placed in eighth position.
I’m confident in seeing entertaining game with goals at both ends and Over 2.5 Goals appeals at 39/50 (Marathon).
Milan v Cagliari | Sunday 17:00 | BT Sport
Cagliari are probably among the most funny teams to watch in Serie A and it is a banker for goal backers, with their defensive line capable to suffer 42 goals in 18 games.
Only two of their matches this season finished with fewer than two goals, and I do not think that their match against Milan will be quiet on goalmouth action.
The Rossoneri are pretty excited after defeating Juventus in the Super Cup final, and they will try to provide a strong performance at San Siro. Attacking has never been a problem for Milan, and I see no reason why goals should not flow in this game with Over 2.5 Goals available at 39/50 with Marathon.
Cagliari should not sit back and just defend, while also Milan will not face much resistance from the Sardinians, whose defence has been consistently overcome against superior teams. The visitors suffered five goals against Napoli, Torino and Fiorentina, two against Roma, and four against Juventus.
