A place in League 1 is up for grabs for both Queen's Park and Arbroath but Willie Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) has only one side in mind.
Queen's Park v Arbroath | Saturday 15:00
When I was a kid, the Grand National was always an event that caught my imagination. I loved the excitement of picking my horse out of the paper on the Friday night and, if I wasn't whisked off to Tynecastle by my dad, I'd sit in front of the television on Grand National Saturday and watch the drama unfold.
Back then, of course, I knew even less about horse racing than I do now (which still isn't much, to be fair) and I always used to throw a bit of a wobbly if my horse wasn't leading from the front all the way.
These days, I prefer to see my horse to come steaming out of the pack and chin the leader on the line – and that's why I'll be backing Queen's Park to get the better of Arbroath at Hampden Park in the League Two promotion play-offs on Saturday afternoon.
When Arbroath hammered East Fife 5-1 just after Christmas, Scottish League Two looked like turning into a one-horse race. Since then, though, the Red Lichties have shown the kind of form that gets teams relegated – just two wins in 20 – and managers sacked – just ask Allan Moore.
Queen's Park, by contrast, have lost just one of their last 11 matches on home soil and while Gus MacPherson's men will be kicking themselves at having thrown away a 2-0 lead in the first-leg of this tie on Wednesday night, I expect the Spiders to take full advantage of getting a second bite of the cherry.
Queen's Park are superb value to book their place in the play-off final with a home win on Saturday afternoon at 5/4 and that's why they are my best bet from Scotland this weekend.
