Scottish Football: Bhoys can bash Gers in Old Firm skirmish, says Mr Fixit

DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixitstips) picks out his three best bets in Scotland from the weekend's action.

Rangers v Celtic | Saturday 23rd September 2017, 12:00 | Sky Sports

Rangers made signings in the summer designed to close the gap on Celtic – but it's still too big.

There have been highs and lows for the Ibrox support this season as well as positives and negatives regarding the new boys. Many will feature in the first Old Firm derby at lunchtime on Saturday and don't look ready to take on the all-conquering champions who won't have many debutants on show.

Last season Celtic won five and drew one of the six meetings and two of the victories were 5-1. Victory at Dundee in the Betfred Cup quarter-final extended their unbeaten domestic run to 56 and when Brendan Rodgers suffers his first defeat it's likely to be at Ibrox or Pittodrie.

But I can't see it being Saturday and bookies agree. I reckon Celtic will win by two or three – maybe 3-1. So Celtic -1 is the shout at 19/10 with BetVictor.

Ross County v Hibs | Saturday 23rd September 2017, 15:00

Elsewhere in the Premiership back goals as usual when Hibs play.

All their league games have seen both score and they head to face Ross County whose three home games have also landed BTTS.

Both Teams To Score in Dingwall is 17/20 at Sportingbet and that looks big.

Brechin v Dunfermline | Saturday 23rd September 2017, 15:00

In the Championship, Dunfermline are back on top after a crushing defeat of St Mirren last week.

The Pars should beat winless Brechin who prop up the table with two points from eight games. Dunfermline have averaged three a game in the league and hit 13 on their last three visits to Glebe Park.

Take the Pars to win and Over 1.5 Goals at 10/11 with Paddy Power.

Best Bets

Rangers v Celtic – Celtic -1 handicap (19/10 BetVictor)

Ross County v Hibs – Both Teams To Score (17/20 Sportingbet)

Brechin v Dunfermline – Dunfermline to win and Over 1.5 Goals (10/11 Paddy Power)
