Scottish Football: Bhoys backed to see off Buddies

DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) shares his best bets from Wednesday night's action north of the border.

St Mirren v Celtic | Wednesday 3rd April 2019, 19:45 | Sky Sports

It’s back to normal after the madness of Sunday's Old Firm derby which so far has claimed reds for three Rangers players. Alfredo Morelos was sent off and misses the next four games while Andy Halliday is banned for one after clashing with Scott Brown after the final whistle.

On-loan Liverpool winger Ryan Kent has been cited by the compliance officer and likely to accept a two-game ban but if he does it won't come into play until Thursday.

It will surely be much calmer on Wednesday with Celtic travelling to St Mirren and Rangers at home to Hearts.

Celtic are likely to make changes – Dedryck Boyata being an enforced one – in Paisley while Rangers will be forced into them for the visit of Hearts.

There's no value in the Celtic game until teams are revealed as they are no bigger than 1/5 and likely to be a little flat after the weekend fireworks.

The Buddies moved off the bottom after their weekend defeat of Dundee but are 18/1 for a reason. It was 0-0 earlier in the season though in Oran Kearney's first game in charge and in seven visits to Paisley the champions have won by more than only once so it's not their favourite venue.

Saints looked doomed a few weeks ago but have picked up with victories against Dundee and Hamilton as well as draws at Hearts and Aberdeen. They've got a chance of avoiding the drop now but unlikely to stop Celtic's charge to the title.

I'll be on Celtic -1 at 8/13 with Boylesports if I like the line-up and Odsonne Edouard to score first at 3/1 with Bet365. Edouard was superb against Rangers and could yet turn into the striker Brendan Rodgers expected when he signed him.

Rangers v Hearts | Wednesday 3rd April 2019, 19:45

Rangers will be looking for a lift after leaving Parkhead with nothing despite playing well after being reduced to 10 men. Kent's cracking goal looked to have earned them a point before James Tavernier's mistake let Celtic in for a late winner.

Hearts could be without weekend hero Uche Ikpeazu who is a an injury doubt and Craig Levein's side may have one eye on the weekend derby against Hibs and the following week's Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness.

Steven Gerrard's should bounce back with a win even though a best 8/15 with Unibet is a little skinny. They have won six of seven at home to the Jambos and will be looking to give their support something to cheer as they aim to finish second behind Celtic.

Best Of The Rest

The best bet on Wednesday night could be Hibs at 11/8 (Blacktype) at home to Kilmarnock with Paul Heckingbottom losing just once in charge since replacing Neil Lennon. Marc McNulty's been in good form since signing on-loan from Reading and is 7/2 at Bet365 to score first.

St Johnstone should see off basement boys Dundee, who looked poor at St Mirren, and are 4/5 with Ladbrokes. And I'm on Livingston to edge out Hamilton at 4/5 with Boylesports. If Ryan Hardie starts, back him to score first at 22/5 with Unibet.

Best Bets

St Mirren v Celtic – Celtic -1 handicap (8/13 Boylesports)

St Mirren v Celtic – Odsonne Edouard to score first (3/1 Bet365)

Hibs v Kilmarnock – Hibs to win (11/8 Blacktype)

Livingston v Hamilton – Ryan Hardie to score first (22/5 Unibet)
