SCOTTISH football aficionado Gerry Taylor (@thefurlongpole) continues his new column, sharing his NAP, next best and long shot ahead of the weekend action.
NAP – Airdrie to win (23/20 BetVictor)
The Diamonds have made a good signing since League One has been on another lockdown – midfielder Kyle Turner has been acquired from Championship team Dunfermline.
The Lanarkshire visitors were in good nick, before the league halted, winning back to back games. The hosts only had 1/6 points from their brace of matches before lockdown.
Airdrie won 2-0 on their last visit to the Balmoor Stadium. So Bet Victor's 23/20 looks decent for the weekend NAP.
Next best – 40+ Booking Points in Kilmarnock vs Motherwell (10/11 SkyBet)
This is a massive game, more so Killie as they have dropped like a stone, to the bottom of the league in recent weeks. New manager Tommy Wright has not been able to get a win yet in his half a dozen games. Motherwell, under Graham Alexander, have pulled away from danger now.
Alan Muir has the whistle for a match which will be fought out very competitively. The official has shown four red cards in his last eight matches, and is very adept with yellow cards – so Skybet's 10/11 for the match to reach 40+ bookings points appeals.
Long shot – Alloa to win (9/2 Bet365)
Sadly the 11/2 has been already snaffled up on the home win. The current 9/2 with Bet365 is still way too big though. The Wasps just went to Dumfries and beat the form team in the league Queen of the South.
This game promises goals and the inconsistency in the Dundee performances is there for all to see. All may not be well at Tayside behind the scenes, do for that reason the prices are way out of step. The compilers are just looking at Alloa's league position and not the state of Dundee's defence etc.
