THE Auld Enemy clash on Tuesday night and we got Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) to preview the clash for us. Give us your best bet Chris!
Scotland v England | Tuesday 20:00 | ITV1
With regard to native public opinion, these nations are poles apart. The Scottish public are riding on the crest of a wave after a triumphant year for Gordon Strachan's side, while the English seem increasingly disenchanted with Roy Hodgson's collective as the shadow of World Cup failure hangs around like a bad smell.
But the thing is, England keep winning. They're P4 W4 in their Euro 2016 qualification group and have no doubt already booked their hotel in France. They haven't lost a qualifier since 2009, only Italy can beat that in Europe. So this must be why they've been chalked up as short as Evens with Ladbrokes. But, my word, that is a short price.
Let's look at the flip side of England. They had a miserable World Cup, finishing bottom of their group (big odds were available on that back in May) and have been gifted a straight-forward Euro 2016 qualifying group, They've not let anyone down during this group but have hardly dazzled in routine wins over Estonia and Slovenia.
While their qualifying form deserves a round of applause, their friendly form has had it's blemishes. A lacklustre win at home to Norway (Scotland won their away) can be filed alongside draws against Honduras and Ecuador and defeats to Chile and Germany. Overall, England have failed to win four of their last seven friendlies.
I'm pretty sure that figure will become five non-wins in their last eight friendlies as I expect Scotland to get something here. The Scots have some impressive stats to their name just now. They've suffered just one defeat in their last 10 matches (against the world champions), are unbeaten at home in 2014, haven't even conceded on Scottish soil for 14 months and have no home friendly loss since 2008.
A glance at their recent results should also fill Scots backers with confidence. They've beaten Croatia home and away, saw off Republic Of Ireland, won in Poland and Norway and gave Germany a real fright in the Fatherland in September. Isn't that better form than England's during this period?
Scotland are 4/5 with a goal start at Bet365 and that's a fantastic bet. I just can't see Scotland losing this game. However, I'm going to be bold and back the Scots to win outright. I think their recent form puts them in with a shout and with a fervent Celtic Park crowd behind them I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Betfred's 11/4 drop in the hole.
Best Bet
