Not the most glamorous game for us this week with the Chicago Bears travelling to Washington to take on the Redskins.

Chicago has started slowly this year and could very easily be 0-2 like Washington is if not for a crazy ending in Denver last week. The defence has been as advertised, allowing an average of just 12 points a game across the first two weeks, but the offense, led by QB Mitch Trubisky, has so far failed to get it going.

Trubisky is averaging just 174 yards a game through the air, has thrown for 0 TDs and, using ESPN’s QBR in this instance, is ranked 28th with just 28.2. Put simply, he’s not been good enough for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations for this season. Their defence will keep them in most games, but the lack of scoring has got to be a concern.

Washington, despite their record, has actually been able to put up a decent amount of points – sitting at 24 a game so far – and have had the lead in both games, which given their talent level and the opposing defences they’ve faced (Eagles and Cowboys) is quite impressive.

I don’t envisage them blowing the Bears away, but I can certainly see them giving the Chicago defence a shock in the first half before they’re able to make any adjustments. Indeed, I like Washington to win the First-Half at odds-against (33/20 Unibet).

The Redskins have averaged 13.5 points in the First-Half this year (tied for 8th in the league), whereas the Bears have put up just 4.5 points (30th), so I like Washington to be in front at the half.
