Monaco's run to the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League last season was one of the stories of the competition but they've already dropped out this time round. Yes, a 4-3 aggregate loss in the play-off round to Valencia has saw the French side join the Europa League this season and on Thursday they host Spurs.
It's been a fair start to the season for Leonardo Jardim's side with three wins from their first eight league fixtures but the contest with Valencia and earlier hammering of Young Boys proves they're a tough side to overcome.
One quirk of the club is it's involvement in high scoring matches this season. You'll probably recall last year their defence was as rock solid as it comes with just 26 goals conceded over the whole 38 league season, this year though it's different. Amazingly Monaco had already conceded half that number before September ended.
So where last season Unders bets were de rigueur in Monaco games, this time round Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in nine of their 13 matches this season in all competitions.
But what about Spurs? Well they'll be riding on the crest of a wave after their amazing 4-1 victory over title favourites Manchester City on Saturday but surely we'll see a skeleton side for this game.
Spurs are Europa League mainstays and this will be their fifth consecutive season in the competition. Last year they picked up four points out of nine during their away group fixtures and lost to Fiorentina in Italy during their Last 32 tie.
This unspectacular away record is reflected in the prices with Tottenham as big as 13/5 to win here. That should be beyond them but they can certainly compete in France.
In view of Monaco's propensity for goals this season and the fact that Spurs have scored in seven of their last eight games I'm happy to take Both Team To Score at odds against 13/12 with Unibet.
