IT'S one of English football's greatest rivalries, but who is Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) backing in this Old Trafford showdown?
Man Utd v Liverpool | Sunday 13:30 | Sky Sports 1
There's no doubt both these sides have been in better nick during previous renewals of this fixture, but the match still retains some magic. The obvious way to pitch it, is one side playing poorly but getting points, while another side playing poorly but not getting points.
It's Liverpool that are at the centre of my analysis. You can imagine their hearts will be in their boots after getting knocked out the Champions League on Tuesday night. Are they capable of picking themselves up for this fixture?
Another concern for Brendan Rodgers is his side's lack of attacking prowess at the moment. After 15 league games last season Liverpool had scored 34 goals, this campaign it's just 19. That's the same number as Crystal Palace.
Their last 12 matches in all competitions have yielded just 11 goals. Five of those scores came against Ludogorets and bottom of the table Leicester. In five of those 12 matches they failed to score. It's certainly an area they're struggling in.
Manchester United may not be playing well, but they're getting results. Five consecutive wins in the Premier League have propelled them up to third place in the table and the gloomy days of the autumn seem behind them.
Despite this, I feel it's only a matter of time for someone takes their pants down and gives them a proper beating. Will that be Liverpool on Sunday? No, I just don't see how they're capable of that.
Rather than backing United at odds-on, I'm going to side with Under 2.5 Goals in this match at 21/20 with BetVictor. I've already highlighted Liverpool's' paucity of goals and I'll also bank on Manchester United not profiting from the luck they've most definitely had in recent weeks.
