DANIEL MCCULLOCH (@DMcCulloch1984) shares his favourite fancies from Super Sunday's showdown between Liverpool and Wolves.
Liverpool v Wolves | Sunday 29th December 2019, 16:30 | Sky Sports
Ordinarily I might try to find a way of keeping Wolves onside given their excellent recent record against the Premier League elite. Friday night saw them complete the double over Manchester City and yet 43 hours after an excellent comeback victory, they travel to face a Liverpool side who have won 17 and draw one game in the league this season and have the added advantage of an extra 24 hours rest.
Liverpool may well rest a few players themselves given their recent exertions in the World Club Cup but I would be surprised if they are as wholesale as those Nuno Espirito Santo makes.
Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri may well come in to the side and there is no doubt that you can expect a drop off in the home sides performance levels. If Liverpool do make more more changes than I expect then I would expect quite a disjointed display but am loathe to oppose a side who have not last at home since April 2017.
Given the emotional energy Wolves expended against City, I cannot believe that Nuno won't have a reshuffle and ultimately I do think that Jurgen Klopp's side will have enough to win this encounter.
Whatever side Wolves put out, I expect them to be competitive and with that in mind a Liverpool victory and Under 3.5 Goals gets my vote. That is available at 6/5 with Boylesports. It would have been victorious in four of The Reds last six home games at this level and I expect it to become five of seven on Sunday afternoon.
Best Bets
Liverpool v Wolves – Liverpool to win and Under 3.5 Goals (6/5 Boylesports)
