GRAEME JOHNSTON'S (@GraemeJ_83) been in fabulous form at York this week. Can he round off his form with a winner or two on Saturday?
2.30 Sandown
A fillies Group 3 over a mile and one of these stands out as a great bet to me. It looks a decent enough renewal however I’m really looking forward to backing one of these.
Sprint Raiser won well last time out and despite being in good form she seems relatively exposed and I'm not sure how much improvement she has left in her. She is likely to run a solid race but at the prices she doesn't appeal and I think she’s up against it on Saturday.
However, September Stars is progressive and comes here on the back of two Windsor victories. She looks on an upward curve and she's well worth her place here.
Last time out she won a handicap in the style of a horse destined for bigger things but she’s taking on a rival who may be a cut above these.
Persuasive (9/4 Bet365) is an unbeaten filly that last time out won the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and could be very, very good. She was backed off the boards that day and duly won in good style.
She is not only more progressive than her rivals here, her form is also as good as anything else on offer, and at the prices, I make her the bet of the weekend.
3.05 Sandown
The Solario Stakes is the highlight of Sandown’s card and this is a very interesting renewal. Plenty of promising young horses line up here and the winner is likely to be above average.
South Seas is favourite and looks a major player. He was a wide-margin winner of a Windsor maiden and followed up at short odds in a Haydock conditions race. He's a promising young horse, however, this is a step up in class and at the prices he's opposable but should be respected.
Mojaris was also wide-margin winner of a nursery last time out and comes here with serious claims.
This Frankel colt is likely to be popular in the market but he needs to find more to get competitive. He is clearly promising but there is one I like a lot more.
Eqtiraan (10/1 Bet365) won a maiden last time out despite looking inexperienced and that form was franked yesterday when the second Rivet won at York.
Richard Hannon horses tend to improve for their debuts and if Eqtiraan does then he will be hard to beat. At the prices he is backable each-way and he's my play here.
