Clare v Limerick | Sunday 16:00 | Sky Sports 1
The senior Munster hurling championship gets underway this weekend with the second game of the championship an intriguing game as Clare and Limerick locking horns.
These two counties have enjoyed many a ding-dong battle over the years and I’m expecting Sunday’s encounter to be no different.
Clare with a new management team after the enigmatic Davey Fitzgerald leaving will want to start with a bang after a relatively quiet couple of years since winning the All Ireland title in 2013.
That, adding to a poor Munster championship record, sends the warning signs out for Limerick. In the visitors’ case they can never be written off and the betting on this slightly insults Limerick.
There’s no doubt Limerick must improve but there is a final place at stake here and I expect a feisty fixture, though I fully fancy Clare to prove that little bit stronger with the likes of Conor McGrath and Shane O'Donnell back from injury.
