RANGERS are a shade of odds-on against Falkirk on Friday night? Would Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) back them? Let's find out.
Falkirk v Rangers | Friday 19:45 | BT Sports 1
Rangers face a similar test to last Friday's assignment. They're away to an in-form play-off seeking Championship side. Last week they passed the test with a 2-1 victory over Raith Rovers, but with the Bairns nine points better off than Rovers this should be a tougher test.
Peter Houston's side are having a strong season with just one defeat in their last 14 matches. As we enter the end of February, Falkirk are unbeaten in the new year.
In many ways, it's been a triumphant year for the Bairns, they were the first side to beat Hearts this season in the league. picked up an excellent 3-3 draw at Easter Road against Hibs and have reached the Scottish Cup Quarter-Finals.
When it comes to goals, they're certainly banging them in. They've scored in all of their eight 2015 matches and are averaging over two goals a game in that period. BTTS fans have found favour with Falkirk games too as they've been paid out in six of those eight games.
Rangers supporters must have been relieved to get back on track last Friday. Three straight defeats (including a loss to Celtic) and all sorts of off-field omnishambles wounded the big intimidating beast that this club is, and there were definite positives to the victory over Raith.
I took a bit of stick on Twitter last Friday for putting up Raith but there's no regrets from me. Last week was as an exercise in finding out how deep this Rangers crisis was. Surely it was worth backing Raith at 9/2 to find out?
Again, there's no way I can touch Rangers at odds on in this match. Why the hell would I? They're playing an in-form side free from angst and negative pressure. However, I do feel that their win last week will release a lot of tension and expect them to score on Friday.
As you've probably ascertained from the notes on Falkirk, they're a positive side in a strong frame of mind and I'm expecting goals in this match. It was a surprise to see Coral chalking up Over/Under 2.5 Goals as a pick-em affair. I expected the Overs to be shorter.
But instead of backing Over 2.5, I'll be a wee bit more adventurous if you don't mind and start seducing Bet 365's 11/10 on Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score.
