Rapid Vienna v Shakhtar Donetsk | Wednesday 19:45
I'm taking the outsider angle on Wednesday. Two teams here look a bit too long in the betting and I think they both may get something from the game. First up Rapid Vienna. The Austrian side are in a rich vein of form at the moment and deservedly knocked Ajax out in the previous round.
Zoran Barisic's side were 2-0 down at home in the first leg before fighting back to draw 2-2. Written off by many in the return leg they burst into a 2-0 lead before eventually winning 3-2.
This is a team going places. Last season they were knocked out of Europe by HJK Helsinki but the improvement they've made since then has been fantastic. Second in the Austrian Bundesliga behind Red Bull Salzburg, they ended the season 12 games unbeaten in the league.
This new campaign has seen them improve further. 13 points out of 15 have been procured and with the headline scalp of Ajax under their belt they must be buzzing for this fixture.
Shakhtar Donestk are certainly a team to fear. They easily dispatched Fenerbahce in the previous round with a 3-0 win in their home leg and reached the Last 16 of the competition last season.
However they were happy with a draw in Turkey in the last round and with Rapid unbeaten at home since November of last year I think they can get something from this game. I'll back the draw at 5/2.
Skenderbeu v Dinamo Zagreb | Wednesday 19:45 | BT Sport Extra
Ludogorets were the unlikely heroes of the Champions League qualifying rounds last season but this year it's Skenderbeu's chance to shine. The Albanian outfit have knocked out Crusaders and Milsami so far in this competition but now face a real step up in class.
Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb haven't really been impressive so far though. They drew 1-1 with Luxembourg outfit Fola Esche two rounds ago before winning the away leg 3-0.
In the previous round they had a real tussle with Norwegian champions Molde. A 1-1 draw in Croatia was followed by a 3-3 draw in Scandinavia which put them through on away goals.
Zagreb have won just four of their 10 matches so far this season while I just get the impression Skenderbeu are enjoying this Champions League adventure. They've won their home games by an aggregate scoreline of 6-1 and I fancy them to get a draw here at 5/2.
