IT'S the fourth round of the Capital One Cup this midweek. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) takes a look at the best bets.
Bournemouth v West Brom | Tuesday 19:45
These are heady times for Bournemouth. Up in fourth in the Championship and in the Last 16 of the League Cup for the first time in 51 years. Can they go any further? Why not. On Tuesday night they face a West Brom side also in decent form and I'm expecting goals.
Eddie Howe's side are coming off a record-breaking 8-0 win over Birmingham on Saturday and have four wins in a row to their name. The Cherries are the top scorers in the Championship with 28 goals and have racked up half of those in the last four games. They go into this game as marginal favourites.
Opponents West Brom have had a strong month with just one defeat in five games. Victories over Tottenham and Burnley were supplemented by decent draws against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.
What's noticeable is the number of goals that the Baggies are scoring. They've scored 10 in the last five games and have notched in each of these fixtures. You get the impression the club are in good spirits by the way they fought back from 2-0 down to grab a draw on Saturday against Palace.
So it's goals that attract me; both sides are in good form and scoring at a decent level. Ladbrokes are 5/6 on Over 2.5 Goals and that's good enough for me.
Fulham v Derby | Tuesday 20:00
These two kicked-off the season vying for favouritism in the Championship outright betting but only of them is anywhere near the top of that market now. You can back Fulham at 40/1 to win the title – I'll pass on that but I will back them at 8/5 with BetVictor to win this game on Tuesday.
There seems to be a real feel-good factor kicking about Craven Cottage at the moment now that Felix Magath has departed. In his place is a man who made 102 appearances for the West London club – Kit Symons. Symons has oversaw five wins in his eight matches in charge and perhaps the best performance came on Friday night when they cruised past Charlton 3-0.
Derby will fancy their chances for sure but I reckon their focus will be firmly on promotion. They played a shadow side in the last round when getting past Reading and I suspect they'd swap this for three points against Brentford on Saturday.
The Rams are prone to some WTF results, the 2-1 loss to Wigan on Saturday showed that. It's feel-good Fulham for me here.
Best Bets
Bournemouth v West Brom – Over 2.5 Goals (5/6 Ladbrokes)
Fulham v Derby – Fulham to win (8/5 BetVictor)
