Capital One Cup Tips | 27th October 2015

APART from the live game there are three other Capital One Cup matches on Tuesday. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) looks at the odds.

Everton v Norwich | Tuesday 19:45

This is an acrid competition to bet on and it goes without saying that stakes will be low until we reach the business end of the tournament for me.

Playing at short odds is not something I'm interested in on Tuesday so Everton make no appeal at best price 7/10 in this fixture against struggling Norwich.

You'd think a competition like this would be built for Everton but their record in it is awful. It's eight seasons since they passed this Fourth Round stage and have suffered a number of poor exits in the intervening period.

Third tier Brentford knocked them out in 2010/11 while it was Leeds who showed them the door in 2012/13. Under Roberto Martinez things haven't improved. They needed extra time to get past lowly Stevenage in 2013 before losing to Fulham. Last season Swansea humbled them 3-0.

The Capital One Cup is clearly not a priority for Everton and to be fair it's the same for opponents Norwich. Alex Neil will rotate his line up on Tuesday and play a fringe starting 11.

It's been a rough few weeks for the Canaries. No win in five in the Premier League and three consecutive defeats has seen them drop to 16th in the table.

I'm hoping a change of line up and competition might just freshen things up for Neil's side and considering Everton's awful record in it it might be worth chancing.

I'll back Norwich +0.75 on the Asian Handicap. This means even if they lose by one goal I'll get some funds back. A draw or win and I'm quids in.

Hull v Leicester | Tuesday 19:45

Another really tough fixture to call here as Championship side Hull host Leicester in this Fourth Round Capital One Cup clash on Tuesday night.

The Tigers have dealt with their relegation well so far this season. They sit second in the second tier after just two defeats in their 13 matches in the Championship and haven't lost since the opening half of September.

Leicester are enjoying one of their best ever runs of form in modern times. They lie fifth in the Premier League after winning 50% of their matches this season.

Their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace was arguably their best win of the season so far when you consider how effective Palace have been away from home in 2015.

There's certainly a feel good vibe at the club and that might be enough to carry this fringe line up to a victory at the KC Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Foxes smashed four past Bury in the Second Round and edged out another side in outrageously good form West Ham in the previous round. On their league form this season they deserve to be recognised as contenders in this competition.

Hull did very well to knock out Swansea in the last round but before that had stumbled past Accrington Stanley and Rochdale. Like Claudio Ranieri Steve Bruce should rotate his line up and that should play into Leicester's hands.

At odds of 17/10 I'm happy to have a small stake on one of the most in-form sides in the country at the moment to beat a lower division outfit. It's Leicester for me.
