Buffalo Bills @ Seattle Seahawks: Defence to rule Monday’s roost

NFL boff Tom Selwyn (@Tom_Selwyn) returns to cover Monday Night Football as the Seahawks welcome the Bills.

Buffalo Bills @ Seattle Seahawks | Tuesday 01:30 | Sky Sports 1

It does feel like I’m being quite negative with these MNF picks of late, but we’re certainly getting our fair share of strong defences and struggling offenses the last few weeks!

This game feels like it’s going to be similar once again – Seattle’s defence is as good as ever and Buffalo’s offense has had injuries in nearly every position. It’s Under 44 points for me at 22/23 (Marathon).

Return of McCoy

As I’m writing this it sounds like Buffalo’s star RB LeSean McCoy will be playing in this game, which is of course big news for the Bills. But I’m not convinced he’s going to be 100% healthy if he does.

I think Buffalo would love to give him an extra week of recovery time but with their season spiraling a bit, if he’s close to 100% I expect he’ll play. The Bills’ offense has lacked any kind of threat when he’s been out of the line-up.

Regardless as to whose in at RB for Buffalo, it’s going to be, as always, tough sledding against Seattle’s defence. They are giving up just 89.7 yards per-game on the ground (seventh in the league) at a tiny 3.4 yards a-carry.

Seahawks far from seamless

All is not right for the Seahawks offense either – QB Russell Wilson has been struggling with leg injuries for a lot of the season and without his mobility, Seattle’s pass protection has been exaggerated further. The Seahawks are 4-2-1 but Wilson has not thrown or ran for a TD in four games.

So with two offenses that are not firing combined with a good Bills defence (21.5 points per-game) and a great Seahawks defence (15.6 per-game), I think this game goes under the points line.
