Brighton vs Manchester City Betting Preview: Citizens can cruise on the south coast

BRIGHTON entertain Manchester City on Saturday evening. Daniel McCulloch (@DMcCulloch1984) shares his favourite fancies.

In theory there is little to play for in this south coast encounter. Brighton are eight points clear of the relegation zone with just four games to play and Manchester City are nine points ahead of third place Chelsea.

Brighton treated a home game against Liverpool as a free hit and while they conceded a couple of poor early goals, Graham Potter’s side put up a spirited display, pulling one goal back and missing several other clear chances to score more.

The Seagulls display against the Champions was one of many in which they have imposed themselves on a top side. Brighton have recorded victories against Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal this term as well as managing a draw with Chelsea.

Graham Potter’s side have found the net in 12 of their 17 home games and I expect them to cause a pretty jittery Manchester City backline plenty of problems. City have conceded in 12 of their 17 away matches themselves and given that I expect the Citizens to score themselves, the 19/20 Bet365 are offering on both seems finding the net looks far too big to me.

Anyone who has read my articles regularly will have noted that I regularly back a 3-1 victory for Pep Guardiola’s side. This season they have won by this scoreline on three occasions in their 34 league games but since he became boss at The Etihad they have achieved this 20 times in 148 top-flight encounters.

I expect a similar type of game to the one we saw between Brighton and Liverpool and midweek and hopefully a similar scoreline.
