AFTER their 0-0 draw at Anfield, it's all back to the Macron for this Fourth Round replay. Can Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) nail it?
Bolton v Liverpool | Wednesday 19:45 | BBC1
Not sure I've heard enough praise for Bolton after they managed to get a draw at Anfield the weekend before last in the FA Cup. Yes it was an under-strength and under-willed Liverpool but a decent achievement all the same.
I spoke at length before the match why I fancied Bolton to do themselves credit at Anfield and that certainly was the case. It's now two defeats in 15 for Neil Lennon's side and it seems a great appointment by Bolton bringing in the ex-Celtic manager. Some would say they pulled way out of their league getting him.
Liverpool are another side who deserve huge credit in my opinion. Just think back to the run up to Christmas and the bullets that Brendan Rodgers and his side were taking from the critics. Now just four points off the Top 4 and on a run of just one 90 minute defeat in 18 they'll go into this game full of zeal.
As much as I love Bolton and Lennon at the moment, I think Liverpool might have given them their one and only chance to win this tie at the end of last month. The good vibes that are coursing through the club at the moment should be enough to see them through here.
Yes, it's a busy February for Liverpool with European football resuming, but Brendan Rodgers will know there's a real chance of winning this trophy with a few of the A-listers already out. A trophy would go a long way in silencing his critics.
I'm going to keep this really simple and back Liverpool -1 on the Asian Handicap at the frankly preposterous price of 1020/1000 with Ladbrokes. That's a shade of odds against as I'm sure you can work out.
I can see a scrappy game for sure with little give. Liverpool should prove too powerful as the game reaches it's conclusion and a one or perhaps two goal win looks the likely outcome. This bet makes me feel safe.
